lyrics

Letters scrawled in fountain pen postmarked return to sender
The mirror shattered, egos felled the pane
Shrouded in the eyeshadow is a hidden black agenda
And where are all the flowers once again?

Once again the soil turned to sand
The cistern’s hollow sound rings the command
Once again the fire’s scarred the land
The water commuted to blood in outstretched hands

Where are all the flowers once again
And where’s my heart?
My bloody hands have taken part and what remains
In an hourglass of sand and open veins?

Bound up like criminals in a tourniquet of quiet
Your slender vase is choking the bouquet
And wound up like little clocks we’re spinning near our silence
And where are all the flowers once again?

Once again the soil turned to sand
The cistern’s hollow sound rings the command
Once again the fire’s scarred the land
The water commuted to blood in outstretched hands

And where are all the flowers once again?
Where are all the flowers once again?
